Call for UNFPA training on Youth & Peace: Sept 30th – Oct 1st 
 

We would hereby like to encourage you to apply to a completely free and certified Youth & Peace training based on the Youth Peer Peacebuilding Manual divided into four (4) modules:

1) Intercultural dialogue,
2) Hate speech,
3) Understanding conflict, violence and Peace and
4) Conflict transformation.

This training is organized under the project “Strengthening the role of youth in promoting increased mutual understanding, constructive narrative, respect for diversity, and trust in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Kosovo[1]”.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

– To gain knowledge of key concepts related to peace, peacebuilding, conflict and conflict transformation;

– A surrounding that fosters values, attitudes, and beliefs that support youth participation in peacebuilding, based on diversity, inclusion, and human rights;

– Tools and techniques for analyzing, responding to and preventing conflict situations;

Facilitation and training skills for delivering non-formal peer education activities;

Sensitivity and know-how for engaging youth of diverse backgrounds and identities, including vulnerable, marginalized and hard-to-reach youth.

– To meet likeminded peers with whom you will have a chance to discuss the possibility of improving your local communities

WHEN & WHERE?

This round of training will be organized in East Sarajevo, and it will be held on Sept 30th and Oct 1st, 2023. The exact location and agenda will be sent to the final participants only. We hereby kindly ask you to apply via active email addresses, which you will have a chance to check in the upcoming days. You can expect your acceptance mail to be delivered to you no later than Thursday, Sept 28th. 

All working materials, food, and refreshments for attendants will be provided by the UNFPA. Additionally, UNFPA will also issue certificates of attendance to all who successfully complete the training. Please keep in mind that travel costs and accommodation will NOT be covered for this round of training. Therefore, we strongly encourage locals to apply. WHO CAN APPLY?

All B&H citizens aged 18-30 are encouraged to apply. Please keep in mind that travel costs and accommodation will not be covered for this round of training. Therefore, we strongly encourage locals to apply primarily. Special attention will be given to young people coming from rural areas, women/girls, persons with disabilities, Roma, and LGBTIQ+ communities.

Our youth peacebuilding program is designed specifically for young people like you who want to build a brighter future for themselves and their community. You'll have the chance to work with other young people and learn about conflict transformation, effective communication, and empowering marginalized populations. You'll also learn.

–      Knowledge of key concepts related to peacebuilding and conflict transformation;

–      Values, attitudes, and beliefs that support youth participation in peacebuilding, based on diversity, inclusion, and human rights;

–      Tools and techniques for analyzing, responding to and preventing conflict situations;

The training will cover a range of topics, including the root causes of conflict, the role of youth in peacebuilding, conflict resolution strategies, and the promotion of human rights. What we are offering?

The training will take place on the 24th and 25th of June and requires participants to be present for the entire duration in person. UNFPA will supply materials for the training, as well as provide food and refreshments to those in attendance. Additionally, UNFPA will award certificates of attendance to all participants who successfully complete the training.

Individuals aged 18 to 30 who hold Bosnian citizenship are encouraged to submit their applications, with a particular emphasis on those hailing from rural areas, females, persons with disabilities, Roma, and members of the LGBTIQ+ communities.

Our program aims to gather a group of 20 young people who are passionate about creating positive change in their community and contributing to a better future. You will have an opportunity to work with other future young leaders, learn and share your ideas about conflict transformation, effective communication, and empowering marginalized populations.

About the Training

The training will be conducted over two days, on date. Interested participants need to be available and attend the full training in person. UNFPA will provide training materials, food, and refreshments. Upon successful completion, participants will receive certificates of attendance.

Hereby, we would like to encourage you to sign up for a completely free and certified training for youth and peace based on the Manual for Building Peer Peace for Young People, which is divided into four (4) modules: 1) intercultural dialogue; 2) hate speech; 3) understanding conflict, violence, and peace; and 4) conflict transformation.

This training was organized within the project “Strengthening the role of young people in promoting greater mutual understanding, constructive narrative, respect for diversity, and trust in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Kosovo [1]”.

Who can apply? All BiH citizens aged 15–25 are invited to apply. Special attention will be paid to young people from rural areas, women and girls, persons with disabilities, Roma, and LGBT+ communities.

When and where?

This training round will be organized in Banja Luka and will take place on May 29 and 30, 2023, on the premises of the local community “Rosulje” (park Mladen Stojanovic).

Training lasts from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

All work materials, food, and refreshments for the participants will be provided by UNFPA. In addition, UNFPA will issue certificates of completion to all those who successfully complete the training.

Travel expenses are not provided.
